Make a Difference This Fall or Spring Break: Join Us to Help Hurricane Helene Victims!

smoore379

As many of you are aware, Hurricane Helene has caused widespread devastation across six southeastern states, with entire communities submerged by floodwaters and homes destroyed. Our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones and livelihoods during this catastrophic event. At Appleseed Expeditions, being located near the hurricane’s path, we feel a deep sense of responsibility to help rebuild and restore the affected areas. In response, we are mobilizing volunteers from schools and universities to assist with the ongoing recovery efforts. Our goal is to bring hope and relief to those who need it most. One area that holds particular significance for us is a wildlife sanctuary in Thompson, Georgia, where the storm has wreaked havoc on both the landscape and the animals that call it home. This sanctuary, a beacon of conservation in the region, is now struggling to recover from extensive damage. We are inviting schools and universities to dedicate their upcoming break to volunteer at the sanctuary or engage in other critical projects around Thompson.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of meaningful activities, including:

- Cleanup efforts: Helping remove debris from both urban areas and natural spaces.

- Light construction: Assisting in rebuilding homes, community centers, and sanctuary structures.

- Wildlife management: Providing care for displaced or injured animals, helping restore damaged habitats.

- Humanitarian aid: Distributing food, water, and essential supplies to affected families. By joining our relief efforts, not only will you help restore wildlife habitats, but you will also play an important role in rebuilding a community that has been deeply impacted by this disaster.

Your contributions—whether through physical labor, resource management, or emotional support—will help provide relief to both people and nature as we work together toward recovery. This is a powerful opportunity for students to engage in hands-on service, develop empathy, and make a tangible difference in the lives of others. If your school or university is interested in organizing a relief trip, please contact us at info@appleseedexpeditions.com. Together, we can bring much-needed assistance to Thompson and help pave the way for a brighter future. Let’s stand together in this time of need and make a lasting impact.

Customer review good rating concept hand pressing five star on visual screen and positive

My sons have been on a few school trips, and this was their favorite. It was well organized. Appleseed was able to to be flexible and easily make reasonable schedule changes for the weather. My son had a great time! The hotel was nice. The price was reasonable. The guides gave the right amount of educational info without boring the kids. I would definitely travel with Appleseed again.
